United Taxis is one of Dorset’s largest taxi firms, with more than 300 cars available to book around the clock, all year round. You can order, track and pay for your car through United’s dedicated mobile app or call the catchiest telephone number as heard across all the local radio stations, 556677.
At your service
The great thing with United is that they keep in touch from start to finish – they’ll confirm your booking, send a text to let you know the make, the model, the registration and the colour of the car that’s picking you up and give you a call to say they’re outside. With uniformed drivers adding to the respectability and efficiency of the business, United Taxis take the hassle and guesswork out of getting where you’re going.
To some, making a taxi journey may seem like a luxury but to others they’re an absolute necessity. From helping out on the school run to dashing to a doctor appointment, getting the family to the airport to getting safely home after a late night out, a reliable, prompt and honest taxi service helps you go about your daily business safely and conveniently. United can provide regular business transport or give you and your heavy bags a one-off lift home from the shops.
United training
United Taxis is headquartered in the town centre and provides taxi services across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the surrounding areas. All drivers have been thoroughly trained at the company’s own dedicated training centre, are DBS checked and have excellent local knowledge (passing a local knowledge test).
Technological innovations
With United Taxis’ Interactive Voice Response (IVR), booking a taxi has never been simpler! IVR recognises your landline number to know where you need to be picked up from. Once the system has been enabled all your future cab bookings can be made in less than ten seconds and at the touch of a button!
United Taxis also offers chip and pin payment for debit and credit card transactions. So, there’s no need to scrabble in the bottom of your bag for loose change, club your pennies together with your mates or get out on the other side of the estate just to make the fare!
Business travel
Whether you need a reliable cab company on call to pick up clients and take them safely back to the airport or station or you need a regular business account, United Taxis is well set up for corporate travel. The company already has many accounts for companies, organisations and conferences in various industries spanning retail, leisure, medical, local government and education. It works closely with a number of local hotels, the hospital and Bournemouth Airport and can provide fully computerised invoices and account systems with detailed monthly statements.
Varied fleet
United Taxis’ vast fleet boasts an assortment of vehicles to meet your party’s requirements, ranging from regular estate and saloon cars to 6, 7 and 8-seaters. They also have a number of wheelchair accessible taxis and all cabs are available to book around the clock, 7 days a week.
United Careers
If you’re considering a career as a taxi driver, United Taxis lets you choose the hours you work to fit in with your needs or family life. They employ drivers on various shift patterns including nights, days and weekends. New drivers are trained at United’s in-house driving school, they take a local knowledge test and learn everything they need to become a Bournemouth taxi driver before taking to the road.
Star Radio Cars
United Taxis teamed up with Star Radio Cars in May 2015 to compound its position as the town’s largest taxi company. Star Radio Cars added 40 cars to United’s fleet and operates out of an office on the main Christchurch Road in Boscombe.
Christchurch Radio Cabs
United Taxis joined up with Christchurch Radio Cabs (est. 1970) in February 2017, boosting its fleet from 220 to 310 cars. The deal increased the reach of United’s service into Christchurch, New Milton, Lymington and further to the east.
The merger means the company is now set up to look after 170,000 customers every month and it employs more than 485 drivers and 70 administrative staff out of seven offices across Dorset and West Hampshire.
