If you like a home-from-home when you go on holiday, the pretty Woodlands Hotel just minutes from Boscombe Promenade and Pier will give you a warm welcome and a comfortable stay. Its location in the Boscombe Spa area of town puts The Woodlands is less than a mile from the nearest train station, 1.5 miles from the main Bournemouth train and coach station and 5.5 miles from Bournemouth Airport. If you’re driving here, there’s an ample car park at the rear of the building.
Boscombe’s popular high street and shopping centres are half a mile from The Woodlands Hotel and Bournemouth Town Centre three miles away. If you’re visiting Bournemouth beach, the Square, Bournemouth International Centre and Pavilion they’re just a couple of miles along the coast.
A home from home
The Woodlands is set in its own country-style gardens through a grand pine tree arch which guides you right up to the front door. There are eight guest rooms available, from single ‘crash pads’ ideal for a last-minute night away or as digs if you’re working locally, to a deluxe four poster suite for a special occasion or just a treat.
Room 2 is a deluxe four poster suite furnished in Edwardian style with antique king size bed, ensuite bathroom and views out over the garden. Room 5 is a cosy, country-style double room with a large ensuite while the bright blue Room 8 is light and airy and a popular choice. Room 4 is another four-poster, lovely and bright with ensuite bathroom and views across the garden. Other rooms include singles, twins, a large family room and a triple.
Children over the age of ten are welcome to stay at The Woodlands Hotel and the property is on level ground if mobility is a consideration. All guest rooms have a flatscreen television with cable channels, complimentary toiletries, a kettle and a hairdryer and some bedrooms also provide a seating area. An iron is available on request. WiFi is available throughout the property in all bedrooms and communal areas and is free to use. Check in is any time between 2:30pm and 9pm and check out from 7:30am to 10:30am.
There is a full English or continental breakfast freshly prepared to order each morning and an evening meal can be provided on request. The owners can also carer for dietary needs and special requests so please let them know if there’s something you would like.
The Woodlands is just a ten-minute walk to the shops, restaurants and local nightspots but if you fancy a quiet night in, settle down with a nightcap in Nelson’s locker bar or sink into a pew in the cosy guest lounge and TV area. There is also a brightly lit garden with seating if you want to enjoy some last breaths of sea air before you retire for the night.
While you’re just a five-minute meander to the beach and bracing clifftop walks there are also tennis courts across the road and other leisure amenities nearby if you fancy something a little more strenuous.
