Short hop from the beach
Getting to the hotel is simple, with easy road access through the heart of town and free parking when you get there. Guests arriving by train or coach are just a mile and a half from the main stations while Bournemouth Airport is seven miles away. Bournemouth’s iconic pier and golden beach are just a two-minute stroll through the gardens while the main square with its shops, bars and restaurant are a couple of minutes in the opposite direction.
Be our guest
The hotel has 74 cosy guest rooms, all ensuite, with LCD Freeview televisions, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and a trouser press. Some of the rooms have views across the English Channel, which is just a short stroll away.

Choice of rooms
The choice of bedrooms is superior with sea view, superior deluxe, standard sea view, standard and compact. These luxurious, ensuite guest rooms all have sea views and provide complimentary toiletries, a Nespresso coffee machine and hospitality tray, Hildon natural mineral water, a 32-inch LDC television with selected Freeview channels, complimentary high-speed wireless internet, a trouser press and iron, an in-room laptop safe, direct-dial telephone, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers and a personal fridge (which can be stocked on request).
Choose a standard room (sea view optional) and you still get many of the benefits of the superior but in slightly less space. The rooms can be configured as doubles or twins and there is also a single room option for the solo traveller. Or choose a compact room, which offers the same level of comfort and facilities to guests on a tighter budget.
AA Rosette dining
The AA Rosette Hermitage restaurant serves up modern British cuisine in elegant surroundings. The restaurant is open to hotel guests and the public for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner and is a popular venue for pre-show meals due to its proximity to Bournemouth International Centre.
The sample a la carte menu features lots of local, fresh seasonal produce. Starters include oak smoked salmon, seared scallops and Lymington Bay crab. Mouth-watering mains might include a Donald Russell Aberdeen Angus centre cut fillet steak or oven roasted lamb rump and if there’s room for dessert, perhaps a warm dark chocolate fondant or the ‘five cheese from the south west’ platter with quince jelly, real ale chutney, fudge and biscuits.
If you prefer, you could order from the Table d’hote menu, which includes starters like chicken liver parfait and roasted pair and goat’s cheese filo tart. Mains include twice roasted pork belly and pan seared seabream and desserts like lemon and sultana cake and warm plum and almond tart.
Afternoon tea is served fresh each day from 10:30am to 5:30pm with various, classic combinations of finger sandwiches, warm scones and sweet pastries all made in the Hermitage kitchen. Children’s and savoury afternoon teas are also available.
Perhaps you’d rather relax in the Hermitage Lounge Bar.
