If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay within easy reach of the beach, central to town but still a resort in itself, check out the Connaught Hotel in Bournemouth’s popular West Cliff. This sprawling property on West Hill Road is just off the main Wessex Way into town and if you’re driving you’ll be delighted to discover free parking for 66 cars – a real plus in the height of summer especially during the Bournemouth Air Festival.
Guests travelling by train are likely to arrive at the town’s main station at the Lansdowne, just a couple of miles from the Connaught. This is also the bus station if you’re coming to Bournemouth by National Express or other coach tour. Guests from even further afield may land at Bournemouth International Airport, which is less than seven miles from the hotel.
There are lots of reasons for travelling to Bournemouth. From its famous pier and seven miles of golden coastline to the popular Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) and Pavilion Theatre (both just over a half mile walk away) and also Bournemouth University, Arts University and Bournemouth and Poole College. The Lansdowne Campuses are just about a mile and a half from the Connaught and the Talbot University Campus just three miles in the other direction. The West Cliff zig zag leading down the cliff to Bournemouth’s beautiful beach is just 5 minutes from the hotel on foot. There is a funicular cliff lift here too if you don’t fancy the walk down (or up!)
The Connaught Hotel has 56 bedrooms, individually styled to suit solo guests and family groups with double and twin rooms, superiors, executives and suites.
