Taste of the South festival returns in 2018 at a brand new venue. This popular culinary event will be housed at Chapel Gate Christchurch, a central and secluded venue in easy reach of Poole, Bournemouth and Wimborne, which will give Taste of the South a beautiful backdrop.
As per its inaugural event at Poole Park last year, Taste of the South will celebrate all things culinary with a particular emphasis on local food, drink and artisan produce. You’ll find local wine, cheeses and chutneys, street food and ice cream as well as an array of handmade crafts and artwork from around the county.
Make sure you bring the family – besides the promise of mouth-watering food on tap there’s a dedicate kid’s area with fun and games running for the course of the event (and plenty of pews from which to supervise their antics!)
Taste of the South 2017
May 2017 saw a brand new festival come to Poole in association with the Maritime Festival events. Taste of the South filled Poole Park with food, drink and entertainment. This free, three-day event welcomed chef demonstrators, artisan producers and the food-loving general public in a showcase and celebration of all things local, including food, drink, produce, art and culture.
The event featured an outside park, an artisan alley and maritime-themed activities and history about Poole and its seafaring heritage. As visitors wandered around they would have undoubtedly been tempted in by the various tastings and samplings on offer and marvelled at the culinary creations whipped up in the chef demonstration kitchen.
