Whether you’re a committed vegan or the rising influence of eating ‘raw’ has piqued your interest, the Sukha Lounge is a very welcome addition to Boscombe’s eclectic café culture. The newest café to come to town (opened January 2017) adds to the local area’s flourishing vegan and vegetarian scene.
The café is situated within Boscombe’s popular Yoga Lounge and its values complement the holistic nature of a yogic lifestyle. The menu features organic, fresh, raw and vegan foods and focuses on nourishment while serving up colourful, beautiful dishes in a relaxing environment.
Taste of adventure
Just because the food is friendly, doesn’t mean it’s boring! Sukha Lounge prepares a tempting medley of vegan cheesecakes, superfood coffees, raw salads, dairy and gluten free options to suit all tastes and dietary requirements.
Dishes on the menu include overnight oats, raw Bento boxes and raw vegan snacks and cakes. Rather than using sugars and refined ingredients, the chefs use natural sweeteners like maple syrup and agave nectar.
Don’t worry if you’re on your way to work and gasping for your daily coffee or tea – but if you’re feeling adventurous why not swap your usual brew for a Reishi Mushroom coffee or perhaps a Turmeric or Matcha (green tea) latte?
The business has a strong sense of community and has forged links with Dorset coffee roasters and loose leaf tea merchants to support local businesses. They purposely choose organic Fairtrade suppliers and ensure all packaging is recyclable to support their values and reinforce their mission.
If you finish your lunch or snack with a sense of calm and a desire to explore the yogic world further, why not take a quick browse around Sukha Essentials – a little corner shop in the café which brings the brand’s web shop to life. The store sells natural jute eco yoga mats made from 100% rubber, beautiful mat bags in a variety of patterns, lovingly-made, authentic Tibetan yoga blankets, shawls and accessories, yoga powder, spray and oil and a range of comfortable and ethical, hand-drawn yoga clothing.
The Sukha Lounge is open for breakfast from 8am daily and from 9am on weekends and closes at 3pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, doors close at 8.30pm.
