The Bournemouth Sands Hotel sits proudly in the town’s West Cliff area – just a few minutes’ walk from the shops, the town’s many amenities and, as the name suggests, Bournemouth’s golden beaches. From this idyllic location, you can enjoy panoramic views across picturesque Poole Bay as well as the town’s iconic Pleasure Gardens. Despite this ideal setting, the Sands also has its own secluded garden and terrace – combining the benefits of a town centre location with a peaceful setting.
Comfortable stay
There are 76 bedrooms at the Sands Hotel; a mixture of doubles, twin and family (up to five people), with plenty of single rooms too, which makes it a popular choice for groups such as touring clubs and families. All rooms offer an en-suite shower or bath and other facilities include flatscreen television, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and hairdryer. Cots are available in family rooms and pets are welcome to stay too.
Taste of luxury
If you want to really make yourself at home, you can pay a small supplement and upgrade to a Premium room, which is more spacious with a larger television and DVD player. There are ground floor bedrooms available and also a lift to all floors. The Sands provides a daily housekeeping service and 24-hour reception for your comfort and convenience. If you’re here on business or just like to stay connected, make sure you take advantage of the free WiFi in public areas.
Check-in is from 3pm onwards and please make sure you check out by 10am on the last day of your stay.
Holiday your way
You can enjoy The Sands’ beautiful setting every day from the Garden Restaurant, which serves up breakfast and dinner in the restaurant or out on the terrace. Kick-start your day with a Full English or continental breakfast and enjoy a traditional home-cooked three-course meal in the evening with waiter service. The chef is also able to cater for dietary requirements such as a gluten-free diet.
Great British grub
The menu changes regularly, but lip-smacking dishes from the hotel’s sample menu include chef’s chicken liver pate and melba toast for starters, a homemade seafood pie or roast beef and all the trimmings for the main and a homemade Bakewell tart with custard and fresh fruit trifle for dessert; British comfort food at its best. There is also a bar and lounge menu for convenient daytime snacks and light bites.
In-house entertainment
If you’ve had a busy day and want to unwind in the hotel rather than hitting the town, The Sands has a bar, a snooker / pool / billiards table, a games room ideal for younger guests, a coffee shop and two comfortable lounges where you can relax and enjoy a drink. The hotel’s entertainment suite puts on a live performance every night, with comedy, easy listening and dancing, cash bingo, quizzes and games often on the line-up.
Ideal base for days and nights out
There’s also a dance floor if you want to really let your hair down. If you’d like to see what Bournemouth has to offer, the town is just a short walk away and there are good public transport links throughout. The Sands also puts on a range of optional excursions and day trips to local attractions if you want to visit somewhere in particular without the worry of finding your own way there and back. If you’ve got your own transport, car parking is available on site.
