Packed with stylish Victorian features and situated right in the heart of town, The Royal Exeter Hotel is the ideal base for your Bournemouth stay. It was originally built by Captain Lewis Tregonwell in 1812 as a home and, as such, the building is something of a historical landmark in the town.
The Royal Exeter’s prime location means all the shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife are right on your doorstep with the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) just across the road. For a more relaxing break, the main Bournemouth beach is just a couple of minutes’ stroll away too.
This 54-bedroom family hotel has a variety of individually-styled bedrooms set across three floors; family, singles, doubles, twins and executives too. Family rooms generally come with one or two single beds, but please ask if there’s a specific layout and the hotel will try to accommodate.
Given its venue The Royal Exeter attracts a mix of guests; from those on business, to conference visitors, holidaying families to people with tickets for a show at the BIC opposite.
Every single bedroom has a car parking space, a real coup for a property that’s right in the heart of the town, especially during popular events like the Bournemouth Air Festival at the end of the summer. All bedrooms are en suite and come with a selection of toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary biscuits,.
There is also a digital flatscreen television with Freeview, plus a hairdryer and trouser press in every room – everything you need to scrub up ready for a night on the town or a big meeting. The bedrooms and public areas throughout the hotel offer free high-speed WiFi internet – ideal if you like to stay connected or you’re staying here on business. The dressing table / working area in the bedrooms is ideal for setting up a hot-desk or just to occupy the kids.

The Jupiter, Saturn and Titan are large double rooms with blissful bathing facilities (Saturn and Titan offer spa baths) and contemporary décor. The Dorset Suite is a large double with oval spa bath, flatscreen televisions, all other standard room features and a traditional carved wooden four-poster bed.
