Ray Mears is a popular survivalist who has been inspiring people to embrace and channel their own wild sides for more than 35 years now. Back in 1983 he created Woodlore, Britain’s very first school of wilderness bushcraft inspired by his many adventures in some of the world’s wildest places and since then Mears has become a much-loved and inspirational public figure all around the world.
In his 2017 theatre show, which came to Lighthouse Poole in October, Ray Mears Born to Go Wild took you on a journey through the wilderness that has shaped his life and career, sharing his fascination for the most undisturbed and remote natural areas that remain on our planet.
These places have helped him on a cultural, moral, spiritual and aesthetic journey and this is what he shared in his show, which visited more than 30 venues in October and November 2017.
