Westbourne is a charming village situated on the border between Bournemouth and Poole. As such, properties here are in an enviable position – they have the quiet village atmosphere and charm, but can easily travel to nearby towns! Westbourne became part of Bournemouth in 1884, but maintains an independent community feel. It’s an extremely safe area – making it an ideal place to look for your family home.

Another excellent feature of Westbourne, for renters or buyers, is the abundance of green spaces. Residents can enjoy the delightful Alum Chine and its tropical gardens, as well as many outdoor play areas for the kids. Westbourne is excellently situated for leisure activities – it’s a ten minute drive from Compton Acres and is close to Upton Country Park, Poole Park and Poole Harbour.

Westbourne boasts excellent transport links to both neighbouring towns, but also to the world-famous Sandbanks. The number 50 (More buses) generally takes around 15 minutes, or it’s a pleasant hour-long walk.

Sandbanks is reported to have the fourth highest land value, by area, in the world, and numerous celebrities have owned homes there, including Harry Redknapp and cricketer Geoffrey Boycott. Price tags on these properties are high – but have beach access and sea views, so you can see why!

Properties in Westbourne are considerably cheaper than in Sandbanks itself, but still range towards the expensive side of properties in Bournemouth. However, there is an excellent range available – from studio flats to enormous mansions, and there is also a wide range of retirement properties, which are very reasonably priced.

With Westbourne you get the location, safety and village charm – but still within easily drivable distance to Poole and Bournemouth town centres. The best of both worlds!
