Redhill is a residential district of Bournemouth, situated within the Ward of Northbourne and Redhill, between Kinton and Muscliff. Redhill is a very green area of Bournemouth; it features an attractive nature reserve called Redhill Common, which is a Green Flag winner and residents have reported sightings of foxes and badgers.
The area features Ensbury Park, which is a residential suburb full of bedsits, three/four bedroom houses and flat complexes. For the most part, these are fairly new, with the majority being built in the 1970s when Bournemouth Borough Council bought Slade’s Farm (off Columbia Road). There are 400 properties to choose from in this area alone.
Castlepoint Shopping Centre is a stone’s throw away, meaning that local residents can enjoy the fantastic amenities that it provides – shops, childcare and restaurants. Buses run to Castlepoint regularly, as well as to Bournemouth Hospital, Bournemouth Square, Poole and Ferndown.
The area is also very close to the River Stour – providing plenty of green spaces. The Stour Valley Nature Reserve is a five minute drive away, and the large Redhill Park features a Tennis Club and a children’s playground.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly area, Redhill has Cherry Tree Nursery and Hill View Primary School on its doorstep. There is also a GP Surgery on Wimborne Road, a short walk away.
