Celebrate the beauty, the food and culture of Thailand at Poole’s popular, annual Thai Festival. The 2017 event took place at Baiter Harbourside Park on 9 – 10 September and delivered the sounds, the tastes and the thrills of this beautiful country to the peaceful water’s edge in Poole.
Challenge your tastebuds with a whole new world of delicate and fragrant cuisine, celebrate this fascinating culture as you enjoy original musical and dance performances and indulge yourself with a traditional Thai massage. If you’re feeling brave why not take on the acquired taste of a Thai delicacy in the unique eating competition ‘I’m British get me out of here?!’
Other entertainment at the 2017 event included a traditional food offering ceremony to Buddhist monks, a Thai costume parade, Muay Thai boxing display, Thai fortune tellers, Thai carving, local produce and traditional music and dancing. The food is all authentic, complete with live cooking demonstrations if you’re inspired to try and recreate the dishes once you return home.
