This unassuming little nook of an eatery is a real treasure. Tucked just behind St Peter’s Road in the heart of town, Norwegian Wood has become somewhat legendary for its all day breakfasts with a decent mug of proper tea. Bedecked in Norwegian classic wood fixtures, the walls of this welcoming little coffee lounge are bedecked with nostalgic black and white snaps. Not the type of place to broadcast itself but a firm favourite with the locals – and in fact anyone who happens upon it, the unique welcome and comforting fayre speak volumes. Pop in for an omelette, a baguette or jacket potato. Simply marvellous grub.
