Whether you’re a seasoned runner, you’ve excelled at your “Get fit for the New Year” campaign and want to up the challenge or you just want to offset the inevitable Easter feast, the annual Larmer Tree Races are perfectly timed to tempt you into some springtime fitness.
Starting and finishing in the magnificent Larmer Tree estate on the Dorset – Wiltshire border, this annual festival of running offers a full marathon and half marathon, a 10 mile race and a 20-miler over the course of an energetic weekend.
They promise hills, can’t make a promise on the weather but the Larmer Tree Gardens guarantees a beautiful backdrop for your athletic endeavours and a decent feast at the finish!
New for 2018 was the ‘Dark Larmer’ race, eight miles in the dark on the Saturday night, giving you a choice of five races across the whole weekend. This challenge incorporates a steep hill if the promise of running in the dark wasn’t enough of a thrill!
Entry fees range from £24 per person for the Larmer 10 mile race to £37 for the Larmer Marathon. If you just want to lounge in the beautiful grounds you can enter the gardens for £4 per adult, concessions £3 and under 12s £2.50. You can enjoy the Coffee Grove café without visiting the gardens.
