You know Summer’s finally here when Friday Night Fireworks comes to town! This epic, free event at Bournemouth Beach takes place every Friday night in August, painting the skies with an incredible display of lights and smoke while filling the air with bangs, crackles and collective ‘oohs and aahs’!
The fireworks don’t actually start until 10pm and are launched from Bournemouth Pier and various places out to sea, but make sure you arrive much sooner to get involved in the party atmosphere. Bring a blanket and some drinks and bag the best spot on the beach, bring a barbecue, some music and a big group of friends for an impromptu beach party. Or grab a portion of fish and chips from Harry Ramsden’s to enjoy in the café or down on the sand.
There’s always a lot going on around Pier Approach including funfair rides, seaside snacks and of course the magnificent big wheel, which is staying put until September 2017. The live performance stage is also hosting a free programme of music throughout the summer, covering a range of genres including ska, jive, swing, blues, disco, jazz and classical to get you bopping while keeping one eye on the Aruba clock waiting for the main event.
