If your ideal night out always involves a good giggle, it’s time to check out Bournemouth’s Coastal Comedy. This monthly stand-up comedy show, held at Hotel Celebrity, lines up three professional comedians for a hilarious evening of anecdotes, jokes and one-liners.
The February line-up sees Nathan Caton come to town as TV Headliner. You may recognise him from BBC2’s Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and Russell Howard’s Good News and he’s made quite a name for himself over the past decade with his mix of personal and political comedy.
Caton is supported by BBC New Comedy Award finalist Liam Pickford, who combines unpredictable audience participation with cleverly crafted one-liners delivered in his trademark unenthusiastic and grumpy manner!
Jim Campbell is next on the bill, fresh from recent success as a chart-topping podcaster with The Football Ramble and acclaimed author.
New for 2018, bring your best short joke to perform on the night. The audience chooses the winner, who will receive a pair of tickets to see Nathan Caton again!
If you can’t catch this show, they’re at it again on Friday 30 March with TV Headliner and Comedy Store regular Chris McCausland.
Coastal Comedy’s headline act is always a big name, often from a popular, current television panel show such as Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats or Live at the Apollo. The Hotel Celebrity venue gives visitors the chance to see the comedians up close and personal, with previous stand-ups to headline including Zoe Lyons, Angela Barnes, Jarred Christmas, Joel Dommett, Ed Gamble and Bob Mills.
The event is strictly over 18s and tickets are £12 in advance, £16 on the door. The doors open at 7:15pm and the show kicks off at 8:30pm. So, if you’re looking for a different night out for a birthday or after work drinks or you’re a comedy fan relishing the chance to see some big names away from the big arenas, Coastal Comedy is just the ticket.
