Wrapping up the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s spectacular Proms in the Park season in Meyrick Park for summer 2017, Sunday in the Park was a musical fun day for the whole family.
The full BSO was conducted by Victor Aviat (fresh from the Friday’s John Williams-inspired event) and Pete Harrison (who governed over the Saturday’s Queen spectacular) and accompanied by Inspiration Choir Southampton entertaining the masses with an afternoon of well-known classics providing a fitting finale to this stunning symphonic festival.
Gates opened at midday for picnics and the music struck up at 1pm kicking off a packed afternoon of entertainment from the festival stage. The BSO showcased several of its fantastic projects, with participation events and shorter performances geared to get the whole crowd involved.
From the matinee orchestral concert to the BSO-accompanied Inspiration Choir finale, plus chances to create your own music and take part in games and activities, BSO Sunday in the Park was a fitting way to close these landmark shows in summer 2017.
