Whether you’re in the grip of Wimbledon fever inspired by the professionals at the All-England Club to grab your racket or you’re feeling sluggish and want a fun summer pursuit that won’t take you far from the beach, The Bournemouth Gardens Community Tennis Club is at your service.
This friendly community tennis centre right in the heart of Bournemouth pleasure gardens welcomes visitors and members alike to pay-and-play on its five outdoor floodlit courts (five artificial grass and one hard court) and three acrylic courts, which are covered by an airdome between the months of October and April for a guaranteed game even when the weather turns.
Play your way
Bring your racket and balls along, stock up on all the kit in the on-site pro shop or you can just hire the lot for a nominal fee. If you enjoy your game and want to improve it you can sign up for private lessons with the professionals or join one of the many group coaching classes, which range from mini tennis classes for five year olds through to adult club nights and team practice sessions.
The club house is a warm and inviting space where you can wait for your game or unwind after a gruelling match with a licensed bar and cafeteria, changing rooms and showers. The beauty of The Bournemouth Gardens Community Tennis Club is its peaceful location in the town’s blissful Upper Gardens just along from the Town Hall. This quiet spot offers a peaceful haven from the bustle of the town centre but still sits mere paces from all of Bournemouth’s popular amenities and beautiful coastal landscape.
