Whether hosting a conference, catching the south-coast leg of your favourite band’s world tour or seeking a prime vantage point for the Air Festival, the Bournemouth International Centre is the first port of call for many of the town’s main events.
A large landmark sat prominently on the Bournemouth skyline gazing out across the West side of the beach and Pier, the BIC attracts party conferences, major sporting events, touring exhibitions and one-off shows seeking a large-scale backdrop for their event.
One of the venue’s regular events is the Wedding Show, which sees hundreds of local and national exhibitors showcasing their wares in many of the BIC’s halls. With wedding cars, portable bars and a full-size catwalk with bridal fashion show, the Bournemouth International Centre likes to work on a grand scale.
Every Christmas, the Purbeck Hall transforms into a winter wonderland with its own seasonal ice rink. With daily skating sessions from 11am and the local radio station’s “Fire and Ice” Friday night disco, this temporary rink evokes strong memories of the town’s Westover Ice Rink, which shut its doors in 1991.
