Female vocal trio Bananarama were responsible for many of the most memorable pop songs of the 1980s including ‘I Want You Back’, ‘Guilty’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Venus’ and ‘Love in the First Degree’. They hold a Guinness World Record as the most successful girl band ever, with 32 Top 40 UK hits, ten albums and 30 million record sales worldwide.
The Original Line-Up Tour came to the Bournemouth International Centre on Sunday 26 November 2017 with Siobhan Fahey rejoining fellow founding members Sarah Dallin and Keren Woodward for a nostalgic 14-date pop party celebrating what is undoubtedly one of the most trademark sounds of the 1980s.
Siobhan originally left the group after the global success of ‘Venus’ in 1987, later joining Marcella Detroit in chart-topping pop duo Shakespeare’s sister. Bananarama continued with Jacquie O’Sullivan joining the line-up until the 1990s, when Sara and Keren once more went it alone.
The Original Line-Up Tour promised to take the audience on a nostalgic trip through their world-famous hits some 30 years since the band began, with the trademark big hair, scandalous male backing dancers and sing-along anthems you didn’t even know you knew!
