As of October 2017, The Arlington Hotel has permanently closed. This grand building sits in a prime position overlooking Bournemouth Gardens and was just a short stroll from the beach, the shops and restaurants in the main town centre, the Pavilion Theatre and Ballroom and the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC). The hotel had a great reputation for its special breaks and tours including conferences, turkey and tinsel and competitive bowls weekends.
The building is now owned by Bourne Asset Management, which also runs the former Lampeter Hotel next door, with plans to offer mixed-use office space and accommodation. For enquiries relating to the closure, please email info@arlington-Bournemouth.co.uk.
Heart of the town
Despite its incredibly central location, The Arlington is set back from the main Exeter Road through Bournemouth town centre in a quiet and charming little crescent. Away from all the noise but in easy reach of everything the town has to offer.
The Arlington Hotel is also set on the flat so walking to any of Bournemouth’s many and varied amenities should be no bother – with no nasty hills to catch you out!
The Arlington’s team of staff are based locally and many are long-established in the hotel business. So, if you need advice on where to purchase something or ideas for a day trip or night out you can trust the views of the team to be well researched and reliable.
You get a warm welcome as soon you walk through the doors of this venue, whether you’ve booked as part of a conference group, family, couple or you’re travelling alone.
Groups and tours
The Arlington Hotel is well set up for groups and tours to the town, rotary visits, touring teams and conference visitors too. If you’re throwing a major event you can book exclusive use of the hotel – ideal if you want to host break-out groups from a main conference or you’re holding a large-scale recruitment event or exhibition. Regrettably, stag and hen party groups cannot be accommodated at The Arlington due to the family nature of the hotel and dogs and other pets cannot stay here either.
A peaceful stay
The Arlington Hotel has twenty-eight beautifully presented bedrooms; a mixture of singles, doubles, family (one double and two single beds) and twin rooms (two single beds).
There are some ground floor bedrooms if accessibility is a concern and there is a lift to the other floors. All bedrooms are ensuite (shower or bath) and provide towels, soap and hair and body wash. Every room has a Freeview television, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and hairdryer too.
Check-in is from 2pm and you can check out any time until 10am on the final day of your stay. If you would like an earlier arrival or later departure you can extend either until midday for £10 per room. WiFi is available in the bedrooms and all public areas completely free of charge – ideal if you need to use the Internet for business or you just want to stay connected.
Make yourself comfortable
The Arlington offers lots of comfortable, communal venues for you to relax and socialise on your seaside stay. There is a beautiful bar which serves hot and cold drinks all day and overlooks Bournemouth’s stunning Lower Gardens, a plush green landscape accented with award-winning floral beds.
There is also a small lounge where you can sit and read the papers in comfort or meet up with friends before you set off into town. The large reception area is another popular venue for meeting up or having a rest in a relaxing and friendly environment.
Bed and breakfast
Board at The Arlington is primarily bed and breakfast but evening meals are available on request with an extensive dinner menu offering home cooked English dishes which make best use of local and fresh produce.
Each morning you’ll be offered a full cooked breakfast and there is a continental breakfast buffet with cereals, fruit, porridge and fruit juice available too. You can order sandwiches from the bar at lunch time and even book a packed lunch if you’re planning a full day out.
Although The Arlington is set right in the centre of town, its private Crescent means there’s room out front for its own car park.
Parking is charged at £10 per night, first come, first served, or you might be fortunate enough to find a space on the road. Given the central location there are several public carparks a short walk away too.
Everything on your doorstep
While The Arlington never claims to be in the league of the international hotel brands in town, what it offers is a clean and comfortable place to stay, full of character, proud of the little details and set in one of the most recognisable destinations in Bournemouth.
From its pretty terrace overlooking the town’s Lower Gardens you’ve got your own private path right down to the beach – without any roads to cross – and easy access to the Bandstand, the mini golf, Bournemouth Square and beyond. So, if you’re looking for a local and friendly place to stay, why not book your next Bournemouth break today?
