Another new Poole festival for May is Taste of the South, which will fill Poole Park with food, drink and entertainment. This free, three-day event, in association with Poole Maritime Festival, will welcome chef demonstrators, artisan producers and the food-loving public in a showcase and celebration of all things local, including food, drink, produce, art and culture.
The event will feature an outside park, an artisan alley and maritime-themed activities and history about Poole and its seafaring heritage. As you wander around you’ll undoubtedly be tempted in by the various tastings and samplings on offer and marvel at the culinary creations whipped up in the chef demonstration kitchen.
Taste of the South kicks off at midday on Friday 19th May and closes at 6pm. It then opens both days over the weekend at 10am, running until 6pm again on Saturday and closing its doors for the last time at 5pm on Sunday. So whether you’re a fan of local produce or keen to discover the true Taste of the South, make sure you head for Poole Park as part of your Maritime Festival celebrations.
