Sports and entertainment fans alike enjoyed a slam-dunkingly great night out a the BIC when the Original Harlem Globetrotters basketball team came to town in April 2017. Taking in Bournemouth as one of the many stops on the team’s 2017 World Tour, spectators were entertained and awe-stricken in equal measures by these formidable – and true showmen – New York athletes with fancy footwork and trick shots.
The team recently completed their 90th year tour, in which they named Pope Francis the ninth honorary Harlem Globetrotter, graced the catwalk at New York fashion week, broke a staggering seven Guinness World Records and remixed their trademark theme song, Sweet Georgia Brown.
The star-studded line-up for the Globetrotters’ latest tour included Big Easy Lofton, Ant Atkinson, Hi-Lite Bruton, Thunder Law, Bull Bullard and Cheese Chislhom, plus female stars TNT Lister and Ace Jackson.
The performance featured a basketball game showcasing the team’s trademark ball handling style with rim-rattling dunks, trick shots, comedy set pieces and crowd interaction.
