Join the scrum heading for Boscombe beach on the weekend of 17 and 18 June 2017 for Britain’s very first beach 5s international rugby tournament.
Twenty teams of men and women are gearing up for regular battles on the beach in this full-contact, two-day event. The rules differ from traditional rugby in that when the ball carrier has contact with or is tackled by an opponent they must pass or release the ball within two seconds – making for a fast and thrilling match.
The event will also feature a beach festival and party, plus a closing ceremony on the Sunday. Any proceeds raised over the weekend will go to the charity Brainstrust, which supported organiser Barty Hills and his family during his brain tumour treatment and recovery.
