Join the scrum heading for Boscombe beach on the 17th June 2017 for Britain’s very first Beach 5s international rugby tournament.
Twenty men’s and ladies teams are gearing up to battle on the beach in this full-contact, full-day event. The rules differ from traditional rugby in that when the ball carrier has contact with or is tackled by an opponent they must pass or release the ball within two seconds – making for a fast and thrilling match.
This family event will also feature a beach festival and party so there’s plenty to keep all ages occupied with a charity rugby game, food and refreshments too. British Beach Rugby’s charity partner Brainstrust supported organiser Barty Hills and his family during his brain tumour treatment and recovery and proceeds raised will go to this deserving cause.
Beach rugby has been a hit across Europe for two decades but Boscombe is bringing it to Britain. So Let’s Get Sandy!
